3. Can I save files to my own hard drive?
Yes, you can copy files into your own computer's hard drive through the drive mapping mechanism provided in the Remote Desktop client.
4. Is my data secure?
Yes, your business-critical data is absolutely secure. ITX will provide you with password-protected secure login access so you may login into your QuickBooks™ account via Terminal Services. Our servers are located at an American Express Certified secure facility with trained security guards on-site at all times, and both a hand scan and ID badge are required to enter controlled areas. All ITX servers are protected by a firewall system designed to minimize security risks. But ITX doesn't stop there; we continually monitor our systems for intruders and take immediate corrective actions should we find anyone attempting to misuse any of our clients' sites or servers.
5. Is the system secure?
Yes, the QuickBooks hosting environment is highly secure. Located in an American Express Certified hosting facility, with multiple-level firewalls in place, the system is safe from outside intrusion. The use of Microsoft's Group Policy also allows us to lock down the desktop environment as well. File permissions are set up so that only you and your clients can get at their files.
6. Is ITX QuickBooks™ hosting service reliable?
ITX provides a safe, secure and reliable hosting service. ITX’s data servers are monitored for reliability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. ITX has multiple Internet facilities, and each ITX server is backed up to an off-site facility on a daily basis. Your data is kept safe, and should disaster strike one of our facilities, we will get your application back up and running in a matter of hours. Also, for an additional charge, ITX will provide a CD backup of your data on a monthly basis.
7.How does ITX backup my files?
The most effective yet least common data backup process is an automated offsite backup service. It is effective because ITX performs a nightly backup of the QuickBooks files from the server and securely transfers them to another physical offsite location.
8.I am a CPA and require access to all my clients’ information, but only want them to access their own data. Is this possible?
Yes, it is because you control the level of access. You will see each of your clients’ data and they will only be able to see their own data.
9. Can the system be accessed by more than one user at the same time?
Yes, each QuickBooks™ file can support up to 5 connections. However, to support concurrent access, each user must have a license. That means additional licenses must be purchased if a client wishes to have more than one person accessing the QuickBooks™ files at the same time.
10.Do I need to have a certain version of QuickBooks™?
Currently we offer QuickBooks™ Professional 2008 or 2009. You would be responsible for supplying your own license for any version other than what ITX provides.
11. Can we do Payroll updates through your service?
Yes, all you would need to do is purchase this upgrade separately.
12.Can Terminal Services be a shortcut on my client's desktop?
Yes. It will normally be installed into your Start menu but we can easily provide a shortcut to your desktop for efficiency purposes.
13.Can I create my own PDF's from QuickBooks™?
Yes, you can generate and email PDF's directly from the QuickBooks™ software. This is a function provided by the software itself.
14. How will I conduct my printing with your Terminal Services System?
This can be done a few different ways. Either locally, via a parallel cable or by printing saved files off a local file server. ITX will assist you with the initial configuration and can provide additional assistance if needed, however additional charges may apply. Also, another option is you can generate PDF files from the QuickBooks™ interface and then download them for printing.
