HTML5

The Future of HTML5 Coding

ITX owes its success to investing in creative individuals who can implement emerging technology in innovative ways. Our team members make it their mission to be experts in newly available platforms that solve existing problems and fulfill prescient needs. We did this with Flash and other established codes, and now we’re doing it with HTML5.

We take pride in the versatility of our mobile technologies, especially their ability to operate on any device. HTML5 is a valuable asset to our open-platform strategy. This universal code enables our customers to use the devices of their choice. Flash, a long-time favorite for videos, music and other dynamic applications, can be used on some devices, but not all of them, and not on any designed by Apple, including iPhones, iPads, and iPods.

Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS, does not support Flash; instead it utilizes HTML5, which is embedded in the hardware and does not require consumers to download a plug-in. The tool’s absence on iOS devices has fueled the HTML5 versus Flash debate, and developers are switching to the next generation of code with unprecedented momentum. Adding to the fervor is the more than doubled battery life and improved security that HTML5 provides in mobile environments.

Another benefit of HTML5 is its accessibility. Many resources already exist for developers to leverage, and more will be made available. Like JavaScript and CSS3, HTML5 is a web standard characterized by ease of use and compatibility with commonly used computer programs, online and off, and display functions both static and moving.

HTML5 is being adopted with unprecedented rapidity as certain developers and major websites choose not to support Flash. In order to reach potential consumers, this technology makes perfect sense.

Of course, ITX is committed to being a multi-technology provider that experiments with everything as it is our goal to deliver the most successful, engaging product we can using any number of implements. Technologies aren’t good or bad; they are simply appropriate or not in certain environments. Regarding HTML5, ITX will be at the forefront of incorporating this technology into its platforms as it continues to gain ground as a coding powerhouse.
