Outlook 2003 Setup

How to setup Outlook 2003 with ITX Mail

  1. In the Outlook “Tools” menu, select “Email Accounts”
  2. Select the radio button for “Add a new e-mail account” and select “Next”
  3. Select the radio button for “POP3” and select “Next”
  4. The radio button for “POP3” and select “Next.” Fill in your information on this next screen labeled “E-mail Accounts”
    • The username you enter is your own full email address
    • The two boxes in the lower left should be configured as shown
    • For Incoming and Outgoing mail servers, enter mail.itx.net for both
  5. With all fields complete, select “More Settings”. This will display the window labeled “Internet E-mail Settings” (See the following example)
  6. Select the “Outgoing Server” tab and check the box for “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”, then select “OK”
  7. Now back in the first window, “Email Accounts”, select the “Test Account Settings” button and you should see each item completed.
  8. If you receive a failure on “Send test e-mail message”, select “Close” and then select “More Settings”. Select the “Advanced” tab, change the “Outgoing server (SMTP)” port from 25 to 2525, and select “OK”
  9. Once any failures have been taken care of, select “Next” and then “Finish”

You have now configured your email client to work with the ITX mail hosting service. If you are unable to send and receive mail, please step through the configuration process again to confirm that all the settings are correct.
